Oh Crap, Here Comes the GAS
http://www.fender.com/products/searc...tno=0265106537
A Koa Fender Strat! AHHH I want one! I can't find if it's american made or mexican made though. Does anyone know? For the price it's hard to believe that it could be American...

I like the look of the Koa, but it's over a basswood body. They used to use basswood for their squire entry line. If it was alder or ash maybe, but koa over basswood just doesn't seem like it would have the same strat vibe. It definitely isn't American made and the price is kinda high for Mexican, but if it does it for you, go for it!

I didn't even notice that. Do they make an American series version in Koa? I would be totally for that. I love a sunburst strat - but a koaburst would be even cooler.

Koa Strat Gas
I believe the Koa Strat and Tele are made in Korea. Ebony fretboard, nice looking. Same level of craftsmanship as the lite ash Strats and Teles.

I thought the GAS usually came before the Crap.
