Excellent! Glad you're back on the grid!

Just tell Steve that I said it's okay

Figured we'd need to wait a bit, since this is really a spec "filler" build. Glad you'll get to continue with it. Let us know if there's anything else we can vote on!

I would have committed: if it wasn't for the unfortunate bracing incident.

Ok, well time's up. So Fazool had his curve fan vote, the rest of the US had double X votes except for Chicagoland which had 473 votes for standard bracing.

By geographical area, the double X carries it.

Thanks for all who voted this time. I'm sure I'll have something more as I continue working today.

Yeah the tragic post #49 stays with us still. Hopefully we can overcome this misstep and knock the rest out of the park.

I will say our double-X fan club is pretty prolific with their praises, I foresee only a theoretical disappointment with the vote, not an actual one. I'll have more for you tomorrow.

Now Steve,...

Do you really have any doubt that this will sell (if Ryan ever finishes it)? PLUS as a self-proclaimed "marketing guy," I think the concept of the thread is really good for business. YRMV...

Yep, we're a custom shop. We aim to please all our customer's requests. Feel free to send in your $500 deposit, and we'll get rolling. Of course, you could choose our bed and breakfast option and come down and get it all in person.

Hey Chris, no doubt whatsoever! The box, now that it IS a box, booms like a Texas thunderstorm when we tap the top. It shows every promise of being a wonderful instrument.
But since this has been built by the electorate, I thought it would be fun to sell it that way. And I'm gonna cast the first vote: I vote for Lizzard to buy this guitar.
Do I hear a second?

I would, but I have one build almost done and I'm guitared out.

That said, I've never been to Texas, so that could be a good reason for a trip.

I don't know, I had about a 60 hour work week last week so decent paycheck....I may just have to send another check to Texas, who knows?

Nah, I vote for Lizzard as well, he knows he wants this guitar...

Ooh...a younger brother to keep your other guitar company.
May have to vote again...

So maybe one more vote is in order...but first here's a shot of the newly labelled instrument.

Now, I'm going to need to rout the body for the bindings soon, and that will call for a butt wedge (or end wedge if you're polite). Keeping to the fast and cheap ideal of the F1 model, I threw together 3 quick and dirty options yesterday for you to select from. I couldn't get the lighting just right (ok I didn't really try). I just grabbed some random Indian Rosewood and shoved it against some wood. But you get to decide what species to use:

Option #1: Texas Ebony - to match the rosette

Option #2: Bocote - to match the bindings

Option #3: African Ebony - to match the peghead

Now before you just go off and hit the reply button, remember that there are no purflings on this instrument. The Bocote bindings will run directly over the sides and the end graft (getting fancy) with no delineation. It will look fine with any of these, but which will look best? You decide.

I'll call it at 2pm central.
