Default 2006 Martin HJ 38 Stefan Grossman Model Limited Edition #40

One of the best Martins you'll ever play! They only made 188 of these. This one sounds gorgeous! To me, they are the perfect marriage of dreadnaught and OM in both sound and comfort.

Madagascar Rosewood, ever harder to find, is my favorite wood (see my builds, I always use it). It combines the magic and richness of Brazilian Rosewood with the clarity and sparkle of Mahogany.

One owner, only very slight indentations from picks underneath the strings, but hard to photograph, only visible in certain light. No other issues. Well played and well cared for. Mostly used in the studio for recording.

SCROLL DOWN FOR PICTURES.

Price: $4750 shipped within the USA.

The HJ-38 features a Sitka spruce top
Madagascar rosewood back and sides,
1/4" scalloped forward shifted bracing,
1 3/4" nut width,
modified "V" profile neck,
Waverly tuning machines,
custom pearl slotted diamond fingerboard inlays with Maltese cross at 3rd fret.

One of the world’s foremost authorities on acoustic blues, Stefan Grossman has performed, recorded, taught, produced, transcribed and archived this classic American music for more than 40 years. Looking for a guitar that could handle his diverse playing style, Stefan chose the J body. Great for everything from Reverend Gary Davis and Mississippi John Hurt to classical rags and jazz, the J handles it all.

I had number 93, with out a doubt the best all around Martin, I have ever owned! And i have owned over 30.

A jumbo designed for a finger picking. Outstanding base, treble and mid range.

Good luck with your sale

P.S. I sold mine because of the size of the guitar, i like a 000. And i still regret it.
