Default Martin OMC-18 Laurence Juber Adi/Hog Custom Edition 2008 with B-Band Pickup, $SOLD

***SOLD*** Congratulations to the new owner of this amazing guitar!
This is one of the best fingerstyle guitars I've ever played. The tone is golden, radiant. The notes are fat, clear, bold. The Adirondack/mahogany combination by Martin is magic. Signed by fingerstyle virtuoso Laurence Juber (#34). Juber says the mahogany/Adirondack combination "is my favorite for writing and I have recorded more with this wood more than any other." The setup is at 3/32" and 2/32" (low/high E strings at 12th fret) and plays like butter all the way up. Minor play wear and a few light dimples here and there consistent with its age and moderate use, but overall in great cosmetic and structural condition. This may be my personal favorite guitar ever. I was sure I'd never let this one go, but I've modeled it not once but twice for custom builds, and I've decided to let the original go to someone who will play it more often than I do now. It's a truly amazing guitar. $SOLD + actual shipping of your choice. PayPal ok. Please email me directly at [email protected]. Thanks! Here's a soundclip by the man himself, on this exact model: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3oflW-2HPs

Just when I thought I was secure in my resolve to sell and not buy, this shows up.

I had a Custom OMC-18GE a few years ago (that I sold to a friend) and this is the guitar that one was inspired by.
This would be a perfect compliment to my beloved 000-18GE.

A courtesy bump for a guitar that brings me to question my freedom from the desire to acquire.

Default Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words, Woodbox. I've played plenty of Martin OM's, and for my tastes, at least, this is the pinnacle of what Martin's custom shop produces. The fat, rich tone is just out of this world. I'm having a clone of this (with a few tweaks) built by Preston Thompson, and I have to give up this one to (partly) finance the custom build. Preston Thompson is one of the best builders on the planet; but I'm still anxious to see if Preston can match the original in tone. *Surpassing* this one doesn't seem humanly possible! :-)

Please note that I've added a video link to the main listing, with the man himself playing this exact model. And it's here, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3oflW-2HPs

Wink

There's something magical about the adi / mahogany combination, especially in mid-size guitars. And the Juber series have the perfect specs! I bet this one is dynamite! GLWS!

Thanks, Steve! Seriously, the tone of this guitar is my favorite ever. And I've tried out a lot of guitars!... I don't know how to describe it, it's like the tone glows. If that makes any sense. (And yes, thanks Steve-- we're under about two feet of snow. That just doesn't happen in Eugene, Oregon. You can tell by the really, really stupid drivers!)
