My first guitar was left behind when I was a child and my dad moved out of the country. I held onto it until college when I decided I wanted to teach myself to play... it was unplayable, so I sold it to scrape together enough cash to buy something functional. 20+ years later, I'm sure I could have gotten it into playing shape and I wish I would have found a way to hold onto it.

Electric: Gibson Les Paul R7 Goldtop. Just a dumb, dumb, dumb, DUMB mistake to sell.
Wow, I'm sure that Les Paul R7 was sweet.

Two of Jon's (MFG) in house CS Martin's. First a HD-28V and then a (2015 I believe?) HD-28 with pre-reimagined scalloped Adi bracing and Adi top. Both were fine examples but the "Greener Grass" Syndrome hit and I caved.

I just sold my Eastman E20 OO today, haven’t even shipped it yet. I don’t regret it now but something tells me I might in the future. Awfully sweet guitar. I just need to free up some room and recoup some funds. I’m still in the love affair stage with my ooo15sm

Hi Dru,

I can't imagine ever selling that D-35. I will likely give it to my oldest son. Thanks for the good thoughts, Dru.

A '66 J-45 in dark sunburst.

A dumb mistake yet again.

I have never sold any of my guitars, I have always been to concerned with having any regrets if I did. But I have been honestly thinking about selling the ones I just don't play anymore to fund what I believe maybe the last one that I will purchase.

I wish I didn't have to sell my D-1 Authentic 1931 last year, but, alas, a new baby is a greater gift worth the loss. I wouldn't use the word "regret," but I do miss that one. Also, I had one particular HD-28V once that really shook the walls. Oh, to win the lotto...

Not an acoustic but I regret selling my early 60s Gibson Melody Maker solid body in 1974 when I got hard up for cash in college. Wish I still had it and to add in insult to injury, that was my only guitar and it took me some 30 years to replace it and start playing again.

None to this date but I am thinking about selling my beautiful Guild D-55 to fund an OM size guitar.
If I do sell it, I know that I will miss it and regret selling it.

I had a beautiful red Melody Maker I bought new in '84, the first time I tried to take up guitar. Sold it ten years later having never found the time to learn. My Bride of all these years asked me "Are you really sure you want to sell it?" Shoulda listened to her, wish I still had that guitar...
