OP here...I know everyone has been anxious about my dry skin and slippery picks...
Tried hole punching some picks—no help. Stopped short of buying anything else (mostly because my big box retailer has limited selection). Never got around to gluing sand paper on a pick though the thought of sandpaper near my OM 42 gave me the willies. Solution found! I bought a product called Zots at Michaels Craft stores. They are double sided adhesive dots that can be used to hang posters and such. They are a little smaller than a dime and fit great on a Fender 351 pick. One on each side and viola! Perfect! 300 of the little buggers on a roll for about $5. Should last me a lifetime. |

I used Fender mediums for probably 20 years as my favorite (the rounded triangle), secondary of Clayton mediums when I couldn't get the Fenders.
Always had issue with slipping some, an extra in my back pocket was the normal. Totally amazed just how far a pick would fly at times. I was given the new Taylor Thermex, by a son in law, which was a bit thicker, 1mm opposed to about .8 mm, the grip was better and I quickly got used to the tone and the size. I would have said I would never change either, but quite satisfied, other than the price.

I used the Monster Grips a few years ago, they do work.

Seriously though, I'm guessing it's serving as a slightly less grippier solution than the sandpaper method. Interesting workaround. |

I stopped trying different picks and just got one of those pick holders that attaches to your mic stand

Doesn't the stickiness wear off after a while?

Should be the title of an album or, at least, song. As to the thread - dozens of threads in the "search" that cover this.
