Default SOLD 2013 McIlroy A25 Price adjustment now SOLD

Up for your consideration and addition to your guitarsenal is a loverly Irish instrument of impeccable build quality with the typically Irish warm, rich, and lilting voice. Specs and build woods per the build sheet Dermot provides with every guitar he sells:
Serial Number: 893
Back and Sides: Solid Kew Gardens walnut
Top: Solid Western Red Cedar
Neck: Mahogany/Maple/Walnut/Maple/Mahogany
Fingerboard: Solid Ebony with Ebony and Maple purfling. Custom celtic knot at 12th fret
Edge Binding: Steamed Pear with Maple and Roswood inlays
Rosette: Paua Abalaone with Rosewood and Pear inlays
Headstock Veneer: Eboany with Maple purfling underlay
Bridge: Ebony
Strap Button Inlay: Steamed Pear with Maple and Rosewood purfling
Heel Cap: Ditto above
Machine Heads: Gold plate Gotoh SG3812 with amber perloid buttons
Nut and Saddle: Bone

The A model is Dermot's auditorium size, which he calls a "mid-size jumbo".
It is deeper then a typical US built auditorium, with an endpin depth of 4 23/32 inches, providing the opportunity for a bit more oomph without extra effort from you. The scale length is 25.5 inches, and the string spacing is 55mm, which when translated to 'Merican is close enough to 2 3/16 to call it that. It is an absolutely delightful finger picker and light to medium flat picker. Dropped tunings are simply delicious.
As I can't do it justice playing wise, here is a link to Paramount's site with a couple sound clips: http://www.paramountguitars.net/gtr/McilroyA25wcU2.htm
There are as near to zero issues with the headstock, neck, fret board, tuners, and back and sides as I can see. There are three visible mars to the cedar top which I've tried to capture in the pics. As such, I cannot represent the instrument as perfect. I've recently strung it with Santa Cruz Medium Tension strings, and am careful to wipe them down after playing. It comes with the upgraded Hiscox Light Flight II case which features a more robust build then their already stout standard case. I would trust it with airport personnel and certainly for everyday protection. I've listed it on Reverb for $2700 net to me; the AGF price is $2500 net to me. Thank you for considering.

For trades, I will consider an OM/OOO, standard depth, mahogany, some kind of sitka top, short scale, with cutaway. McIlroy AS Lowden or Avalon S body would be great. Here are some photo's.

Some interest, still available. If you've always wanted an Irish guitar, here's a great opportunity to get a fine example. Carefully maintainted and cared for, it is magnificently playable.

As a former owner of this instrument, I can say it delivers that iconic airy, lush Irish sound in spades. And the walnut and cedar smell wonderful.

The link to the soundclips say that the string spacing for that model is 2 1/4. Is that one or yours a custom model?

McIlroy makes both 55 and 57 MM spacings as a "standard". 55 MM is extremely close to 2 3/16, and 57 MM is very close to 2 1/4. It is possible the guitars Paramount ordered had 57 MM string spacing.

I hope that helps.

Another former owner of this guitar chiming in to say that this is a really fine example of McIlroys' outstanding ability. A truly lush sounding guitar, and a pleasure to play.
Good luck with the sale!
