Default Homemade Humidifier

There was a recent post about a member making a homemade humidifier using a travel soap dish with holes drilled in it. Then, fill it with water beads--pre soaked in water. I tried this and tested it using a hydometer. I placed this soap dish with water beads in my closed guitar case and left it closed for two days. It kept my humidity in the case at 44%.

This homemade gadget works and for less than ten bucks.

Whoever did the original post, thank you.

You're welcome but I caution against a soap dish for this.

The soap dishes can pop open so I prefer a screw top travel container.

As well I put a very thin sponge over the beads to act like a screen just in case there is any contact.

The first post of this idea was here

Folks have nicely improved further upon the idea.

I use prescription bottles.
They will not pop open without significant help.

I do the same. It's a quick and easy solution.

That's a great idea - easier to find (especially at our age ) than travel containers
