Default replace / substitute bourgeois neck?

i have a bourgeois slope d

i would love a slightly fatter neck

is it possible to replace a neck with custom specs?

bourgeois is only doing warranty work only.
that would have been my first preference.

any other suggestions?

thanks

Obviously, it could be done, but it would be very expensive. I think it would be more cost effective to sell the guitar and find one with the neck you prefer.

Ask around, find a lutheir not a guitar tech, pretty much any luthier can make you a replacement neck.

Expect a price range of 500-900 for a custom made neck supplied and fitted

thanks.

about 7 years ago I sent a Huss and dalton tdr to them and they built a custom neck to my specifications.. replaced it. yes I paid a little.. around $1000 for the neck but it was precisely to the dimension I knew I liked so it was worth it.

I know bourgeois used to do this type of custom work pre-pandemic but now and in the foreseeable future warranty repair only. I might see if elderly does something like that.

It may be worth contacting Bourgeois to see if they can refer you to someone. Maybe there is someone associated with their shop that they could get a Bourgeois CNC'd neck blank to, in an attempt to keep it original, if that is important to you. What part of the country are you in?

i decided to part ways with this slope d.
i could not warm up to the neck profile no matter how hard i wanted to. 0.819” at fret 1.

the possibility of swapping out necks looked like an impossibility since bourgeois said they do warranty repair only now.

Well, on the up side, this gives you an excuse to hang out at Elderly and get yourself a new (or used) guitar. They sure do have a nice inventory.
