I do it every day....but, not before coffee and a little AGF!!

I usually want to get up and get moving after a little time at the computer and that's one of the items I always do.

Default This week's ode to bachelor slobbery

Let Your Sheets Breathe
You may have heard that the best way to kick start your day is to make your bed. But it might be wise not to rush. That’s because moisture builds in your sheets after each night of slumber. When you wake up, peel back the covers and give your bed a chance to dry. That makes it a less attractive nesting spot for bacteria and mites.

Nope. When I was in the Navy I made my rack when I was at sea or lived in the barracks. At home...neither of us bother though sometimes we'll pull the sheets up to make sure they don't get on the floor. Never saw the need.

Always used to but I’m living with a dog who appreciates some freedom (like jumping on the bed) after years of neglect (rescue animal) so it’s been messy; as long as all the more necessary regular chores are done ..

Next they'll be asking how often we wash our sheets!

Yes and the follow up question is how often do you change the sheets.

We had a futon start turning blue. Always straightened the comforters and pulled on a cover first thing in the morning. On the new one we never put on a bed cover. That works.

My wife usually gets up before me so it’s on me. Sometimes if I stay up too late I’ll sleep in the guest room though so sometimes she does it, other times she doesn’t.

I do most of the housework anyway though. My wife works late and travels a lot for work. TBH my time in the Navy after being raised in a cluttered house often motivates me to keep things at least looking neat - though not always up to standard. It gets tiresome picking up after others all the time.

I have to agree in principle with this sentiment. Start the day off with something accomplished and continue the day with that idea in mind. Since I put everything away every day so no clutter accumulates, starting out the day by not accumulating mess just makes sense. No military experience needed here, just a mom wanting the house with 3 sons to look neat.

Wife and I made a deal 44 years ago and it still holds. Last one up makes the bed.

Yes, every day, and brush my teeth twice daily as well. I told my granddaughter’s that if they do these types of ‘chores’ then they always have a reason to feel good about themselves, even if the rest of the day goes badly.

I wish I would make the effort to make bed...but I almost never do unless I’m expecting company! Haha.
