Do you have any of that bog oak left? May be just a little lighter than ebony. My bog oak guitar has bog oak fret board and bridge.

That’s a thought worth considering. I’ll show it both ways, Ebony and rosewood to solicit input.

I do have some bog oak but it’s as black as can be so color wise it wouldn’t differ from Ebony.

Bonding and purfling are on.

Punch in the sound port port and fit the neck and off it goes.

I went with cocobolo binding instead of ebony because the color match was good especially with the rosette.

Shazam!!! Looking good, John--although I still vote for the ebony binding and bevels!

Thanks Kevin.
Black was my fall back color. This cocobolo is a walk on a wilder side. Hope it works.

Does anyone else see a face looking out from behind the soundhole in that 3rd photo?

That's spooky. I'm going to cover that glittering eye with a label

I am looking forward to playing that one! I'd like to compare it to my West Coast from the last B.I.G.

I’d be curious about that comparison too. This will be a newer guitar of course but it is bigger, so who knows how those variables play out.
