Default Vintage short-scale smaller-bodied 14-fretters other than Gibson

Been bitten by the vintage bug. I want something old with some history. Other than the Gibsons which I'm familiar with, what are some other guitars that meet these specs:
  • Smaller bodied
  • Short scale (24.75" or less)
  • 14-fretter
  • Smaller bodied
  • Preferably 1-3/4" nut width or a tad less (1-11/16")

Martin CEO-7 comes to mind. It has all the specs you've listed. Not old, but vintage inspired.

Some of those old Sears and Montgomery Ward ladder-braced "budget" guitars have a ton of personality. And sometimes Western scenery painted on them.

If I got that bug, and wanted a funky blues/rags tone, I'd probably go play some Waterloos again and see if that scratched the itch.

The CEO-7 is a good suggestion.

Look at the Kalamazoo (Gibson built) KG-14 or KG-11 from the 30's. These are the guitars Collings based their Waterloos on. The old one's are feather light, ladder braced and very snappy if you find a good one. There are about 7 on Reverb right now and the cheapest one is $900

I have one of these and they are a great little fingerpicking guitar.

I had a 1941 Martin 0-17 that fit your requests. Sweet little guitar.

Yeah, Martin CEO-7 is a good thought. And Martin also has the 00-28 which is a fine guitar. Also, I myself have a CS-00-21 from LA Guitar Sales that has a wonderful, old school guitar vibe.

Huss & Dalton make a terrific 00 Crossroads, which is Gibson L00-esque. And they also make the wonderful T00-14 which is a Martin-esque 00 14 fretter.

But honestly, if it really a vintage thing you’re after, I’d look into people like Tony Klassen at New Era “Ark” guitars. Totally convincing vintage vibe.

I see a few suggestions for vintage Martin 0 & 00 models. I think OP asked for scale of 24.75" or less. The Martins are 24.9" I believe.

I highly suggest H&D 00 Crossroads.
