NID (New instrument day)
I know this isn't quite the right forum, but still.. My mom plays a lot of dulcimer, and i thought it might be fun. Picked up an early 90's Mcspadden off reverb and got it in yesterday. Really fun to play, and Celtic ballads in DAd sound awesome.

Scored one of those dirt-cheap over 25 years ago, at the Lancaster (PA) QVC outlet store: all-solid walnut, Grover tuners, case, instruction book - and now that I'm retired I may just get around to learning how to play the thing...

It's a really cool instrument.
AGF member Wade Hampton Miller is a National Mountain Dulcimer Champion - I suppose he'll chime in soon. |

Congratulations.
My favourite pianist (Bruce Hornsby) plays the dulcimer at his shows and on his latest CD. It is a real buzz to see how someone proficient on one instrument goes in a different direction musically with another instrument. Hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of yours. Col |
