Yeah, now it's shaping up to be a real guitar-looking thing.

This under oil varnish is going to look amazing!!!!!

Smile Yummy

I too love the beautiful matching of the spiderweb on the Headstock and fingerboard. The entire axe is gorgeous indeed !

Oh, and congratulations on 5K posts and counting. Keep them coming!!!

Coming along soooo beautifully! Really amazing set of tortoise shell quilt, which is not easy to come by. I have a Hive tenor uke with single piece back that is tortoise shell (pictured in my avatar). Sadly, I have not played uke in well over a year. But this post has me yearning to take out that beauty and at least gawk at it for a bit. ;-)

Keep the progress shots coming!

Default Getting even closer!!!

I asked for 3lb, and Burton delivered 3.02 lb.

I am -super- impressed, yet I knew he could do it!

I remember how unbelievably light Burton's guitars were at Santa Barbara.

Light as a feather with incredible response and tone.

You're a lucky man, Matthew--can't wait to see this all finished up!

Or snap off a chunk of that fingerboard extension. Gonna have to anyway when the tuners and finish go on. Only question is whether 3 is the unstoppable force or the immovable object. In seriousness, this is exquisite.

I agree. I'm not sure how off-the-radar Burton really is, but he is my favorite luthier ever. I entrusted the wood to the person I knew would bring a dream into reality.

That looks absolutely incredible. I assume it will be finished with oil varnish?

My LeGeyt is a very lightweight 3 lbs 14 oz. It's an incredibly loud and responsive guitar. World class, to be sure.
