I mentioned on another Kacey Musgraves thread that I volunteer for the Austin City Limits TV show and we have a John Prine taping on June 5 and Kacey Musgraves on June 6. Don't know if either will show up for the other.

I got it a few days ago. Have only listened to it a couple times so far but I recommend that you go out and get it.

+1... "Country" music is in pathetic shape these days...Margo Price is the Real Deal, and the kick in the keester it desperately needs to quit partying and rapping at the Frat House, and get back to business...

Chris Stapleton is taking over though. The Luke Bryans of the world have been put on notice.

Thanks to the two above. I just had a chance to listen to Margo Price and you're right: She's the real deal. Nice to say that REAL country music and REAL folk and Americana ain't dead in the swirling clouds of Nashville noise. Excellence always sine through.
Thanks Again. I'm a new fan. sm |

I feel kind of a raw hurt and quiet rage in Margo, much more so Kacey. Could be wrong on that though.

Scott, if you read up on Margo's life, it's full of raw hurt and losses she's been thru and survived... She's not just making up songs, she's telling her story...

I happen to be fairly intuitive, so I picked up on that right away. Hope the music business doesn't chew her up and spit it out. It's a tough ride. thanks, scott Last edited by Charmed Life Picks; 06-16-2018 at 12:23 AM. |

Just wanted to bump this thread, for the incredible Kacey Musgraves.
You may have heard her name recently, and you'll be hearing a lot more. A couple weeks back, she won four Grammy's. I absolutely convinced that she and Margo Pierce and few others represent the future of country music. Kacey is a fine writer, very good player, and appears to have her head screwed on straight. Watch out. Here's one of her early songs that really knocked me out. I like the kind of stripped-down take on a song, one voice, one guitar. Her new record, GOLDEN HOUR, which won all those awards, is stunningly good. But I have a confession: I haven't been able to listen to it all the way through. Every time I do I just tear up and have to shut it down. It's just packed with such emotion, happy and sad, that it takes you on quite a journey. If you haven't checked her out yet, it's time -- especially female singer-songwriters who are serious about their craft and career. She's the real deal. Enjoy!
