This might be a lifelong quest!
These guitars just NEVER show up on the used market. I've only seen two of them in my whole life

They were aimed to become Pierre Bensusan's signature models but the deal failed for some reason so they only ended as "SLE fingerstyle" models.
Very few of them were built (50 if I remember well).

If you want to play a Pierre Bensusan's guitar, you'd better look for his current Signature model, Adirondack Spruce on Honduran Rosewood with a soundbox bevel. As it's still in production you can easier find one...

Good luck with your Graal adventure anyway

I have #43 of 50 I am eventually going to put up for sale, but I do not want to ship in cold weather. This SLE is in great condition.

I'm south of Boston and would travel in the New England area to meet up if you are close by.

I think we may have exchanged PMs or emails a few months ago, but I became involved in other things and guitars were put on the back burner for a while. This up coming year is one in which I am going to have to finally move some instruments that do not get enough playing time. This is one of the few Indian rosewood guitars that I have bonded with - enough to keep for 14 years, but I favor mahogany bodied instruments and the OL model I found a year or so ago has me covered for the Lowden SLE style.

Hello, you are correct as we did correspond a bit some time ago.
I have to assume that the Old Lady is a wonderful guitar, as all the current shop Lowdens that I have experienced have been. If it was available in rosewood I would buy one and be content. But to my knowledge it's not, and hence my interest in the sle model. Please keep me posted.

Well the Old Lady is not available in Rosewood but the Pierre Bensusan's Signature is and it's a tad easier to find on the used market
Of course it's the same fingerstyle neck as the previous SLE which -as you probably know- was not named "PB" because the commercial deal failed...
just my two cents
