Confusion with a 1949 Martin 0-15 specs
Hi
I have a 1949 Martin 0-15. I always thought it had a 24.9 scale and 1 11/16 nut width. But when compared to my 1990 Martin 000-28, the Martin 0-15 is much easier to play. It almost feels like it has a smaller nut width and even a smaller scale length. Never has a 1 11/16 nut width on my martin 000-28 felt so wide after playing the Martin 0-15. I did some research and I have found that the Martin 0-15 from the 40's to the last year of production, which is 1961, actually had a 1 5/8 nut width. Is this true? And what in fact are the specs of a Martin 0-15 from say 1944 to 1961. Thanks |

I would be willing to bet it is the neck SHAPE that is the real difference. Seek out that information, too. Good luck. |

Ha ha ha. It’s like they say, “the shortest direction between two points is, uh...”
Wait, how does that expression go again? Hold on, making a thread to ask now... |

I called Chicago Music Exchange and they confirmed that they have 1 5/8 nut width.
