Default Shot a tune on my "vintage" CA OX Raw

I lucked into a pretty decent OX Raw a few years ago and I've enjoyed having a bullet-proof guitar on quite a few occasions. I pulled it down from the wall to do a version of "Yellow Bird" and shot a video on my "new" refurb iPhone. Posted in Show and Tell in case you want to check our a little carbon fiber slack key: https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/....php?p=6429463

Mahalo for posting, Fran. Very nice! I may work up a version based on your arrangement, the same way I worked out Salomila after your Acoustic Guitar article a few years ago. I miss seeing you and Uncle Led on video, but I suppose neither of you are traveling much these days. Sigh.....

The CA OX sounds really lovely.
Pity CA stopped producing.
Great rendition of Yellow Bird.

Yeah, we would usually be in Hawai`i from May through July but us old fogies are staying away from planes. And Led's fall tour has been canceled, so the next time we can hope to get together is next February or so if his winter tour with George Kahumoku goes through.

If you are comfortable in taropatch I think you'll find this arrangement falls right out. I didn't quite get the syncopated bass as solid as I'd like, but most of it came through. Have you fooled around with any Sonny Chillingworth stuff with that "Spanish" bass?

Thanks, I spent a long time figuring out the song in C and never quite got what I wanted. As soon as I changed to the G tuning it all fell together.

The CA story kinda hits me because I'm a Louisiana guy, I was proud of the operation down in Lafayette, but I guess they were under-capitalized and just couldn't keep it going. I tried a Peavey OX a couple of years ago though and thought it was at least as good as mine. I would have snagged it but I hesitated and lost.
