Anything designed by Ned Steinberger (Steinberger guitars and NS Design) is usually well thought out. His collaborations with D'addario/Planet waves seems to be reaping dividends.

I don't know why anyone didn't think of these concepts before....genius!

I use the Polytune clip on (and like it) but I didn't even know about the Unitune until this thread. Too bad because I never use the "Poly" funtion of the tuner.

My favorite is the Polytune, but I also have a Unitune (which is a better value for the $$ for most people).

I like the D'Addario Soundhole Tuner. It's pretty stealthy.
It gets me close quickly, and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

I got by using my ears for many decades, these are plenty good enough.

People complain about the fragility, but I have four in play and have never had a problem.

Of the tuners listed in the poll, I've got a Peterson Stroboclip HD tuner permanently in one of the sound holes on my Adamas, but for my other guitars I've got a tiny D'Addario tuner held onto the back on the headstock by one of the tuner screws.

The Peterson is a much better tuner, but for compact invisibility, nothing beats the D'Addario/Planet Waves tuner.

Sold on the Korg PC-1 .
These wonderful people designed a clip on tuner that has a mode for the left handed player . Simply hold the on button for a few seconds and we are no longer forced to see/read things in reverse or upside-down .
Pure genius because of the simplicity ! Thank you Korg .

A poll where the least accurate tuner is the most popular, delivers a result that shouldn’t be surprising.

I mount it so the display is under the pegboard where I can see it but it doesn't look like a mushroom is growing out of guitar, so it's pretty unobtrusive too.

I've had others, not clip-ons, and I still use a phone app tuner from time to time, but the Snark is my favorite.
+1 on this. Plenty good enough for an amateur hack like me

That seems a bit snarky...

I would like to know just how inaccurate the "least accurate and most popular" tuner is. I haven't found my Snark tuners to be terribly inaccurate at getting a guitar to play "in tune."

I have 2 Snark tuners, and when they say my guitar is in tune, my ears, then my Polytune clip tell me different.

Then my Peterson schools everything

Well I was referring to a Snark! You can check the accuracy in many places.

Until you tune with a Snark and then check it with a Peterson or other really accurate tuner, there’s no way to evaluate the two, other than the way you have thus far. You’re pleased with the Snark and that’s all that matters in your situation. What might surprise you is found in the comments from others who say their guitars were greatly enhanced by the more precise tuners. That was my experience several years ago. Good luck!

Most of them actually do that. The Polytune does it automatically - it senses up from down. The D’Addario has a button to flip the display. The Snark is so flexible it doesn’t need it...

Uh... yeah, I got that you were referring to a Snark, hence the play on words.
But I did not intend any condescension toward YOU. I apologize if it came across that way. But I am content with a Snark tuner. I have never had a problem getting a guitar "in tune" with itself or with other guitars or with recorded music with a Snark. There is some tweaking involved. You can't just tune six open strings to the readout on a tuner. So I guess I am pleased with a Snark and that's all that matters in my situation. And I am never surprised by other's comments.

My favorite was the Intelli TT500. I liked it because the green screen would give just enough light on the fretboard in dark jam situations. They don't make those any more, so my default is now the Snark. They break rather easily at the swivel/ball joint but Snark is good about sending replacements if you call.

I do tend to sweeten the indicated tuning a bit by ear for the b string and the bass E on most guitars. Matching the fifth fret note handles that nicely.
