Jim will stick a beautiful black pickguard on this blondie and it will be ready to be plucked and strummed...

Blue eyed?

I especially love the fact that you can't see the zipper on the top unless you look really hard for it. I'm glad I went with Sitka.

I have to say I'm not that anxious when it comes to guitars -- but I'm looking forward to seeing that ivoroid in person.

Originally this guitar was supposed to be shipped to California but unfortunately that won't be the case. We'll have to sweat on your Mod-D...

Thanks, John. Jim usually builds his maple guitars with maple necks but I preferred his standard 5-piece mahogany. I love the contrasting colours on the back...

Honestly, any colour except natural grey/white for me...

This may well be my only blonde guitar and from my vantage point it looks perfect. I'm very happy and excited. Now I can finally take the J-185 off my list...

Actually I'm not yet 39...

I was a terribly lazy student but oddly I became very disciplined at work. I've been doing more or less the same job since the age of 17. It's not an exciting gig by any stretch but I think it's the right one for me.

When I understood why the steaks at home were so thin, I knew I had to do something about it. My number one priority was always to provide my parents with a decent lifestyle while they can still enjoy it.

The fancy guitars are a bonus. I'd be just as happy without them.

Mirabel is located about 40 miles north of Montreal. It was meant to be the airport of the future as they were expecting 60 million passengers a year. As it turned out, the airport never received more than 3 million -- and there has been no passenger flight for at least 10 years.

It's 45 degrees Fahrenheit up here -- but even if the temperature was well below the freezing point I'd still open the case right away. The guitar is stored at the airport, not in an igloo...

Despite what the Fedex tracking suggests, the guitar won't make it until tomorrow. It is still queued at customs.

"PQ" is actually a common mistake. The correct abbreviation for Quebec is "QC". I'm surprised that a company like FedEx would be using the wrong code.

Thanks, Kevin. I'm anxious to find out how different the maple/spruce SJ is going to be from my cedar ones.

I only hope I don't have too much work to do tomorrow...

The guitar was just cleared by the customs. I'm very excited.

Mirabel is a short drive for me, I could go pick it up for you Mau. She'd be well treated.

Sorry, Colin -- the eagle has already landed. Maybe next time? Maybe not?

The guitar is an absolute stunner. I'm really, really pleased with the outcome.

I will post photos soon.
