Default Calton OM Cases - For Sale

Dearest illustrious, esteemed and mostly intangible AGF-ers,

I’ve got a pretty massive car maintenance bill coming up. The timing belt is officially due to be changed and I need your help. If you buy ONE of my Caltons, I’ll be able to drive (well, safely) again! I want to emphasize the “one” here since I’d really like to keep whichever doesn’t sell first. You know, on the off chance I ever fly with a guitar more valuable than my entire soul on the black market again.

I’m offering for you consideration, TWO exemplary fiberglass flight case options of the OM variety; the first of which has the unmistakable “That probably isn’t an Esteban...” yellow exterior which is paired with an equal parts sophisticated and melodramatic black interior. It was made in Austin, TX, has all properly functioning latches as well as the shoulder strap, which was never used (a chiropractic nightmare, those things!). There are a few honest nicks and scuffs through the finish on the underside of the case, though nothing egregious. Take a gander at the additional photo documenting this, if you fancy.

Contestant number two is a Canadian Calton in Granite Grey with a cheerfully hue of blue for the interior. This rugged Rapunzel has an "Acoustic Pro Musician” badge (a bold declaration indeed…) as well as all properly functioning latches, shoulder strap (don’t say I didn’t warn you), and some light evidence of use throughout.

Price? $700 + $40 for shipping. If you buy one, I will keep the other. Anyone outside the US, please contact me directly for a shipping quote. Endless thanks to all prospective customers, canines, and automotive mechanics. As it relates to the maximum protection of your heirloom-worthy instrument, this is certainly the *ahem* Best Case Scenario.

Thank you and goodnight.

Very tempting! Any feelings on the Canadian vs Austin build quality?

Build quality seems about the same, stylistically I prefer the unencumbered look of the older ones.

Brian, I don't need a Calton OM size at the moment. But can you write my Classifieds listings for me from now on?

I like the unmistakable “That probably isn’t an Esteban...” yellow exterior which is paired with an equal parts sophisticated and melodramatic black interior, but you talked me out of it. I have this really nice Esteban, see...

Just curious if this case would fit a certain guitar that I will be trying out Friday?

Ladies and Gents,

These two freakishly ideal flight cases were made to fit the traditional (read: Martin) OM/14 fret-000 template. Too far in either direction would potentially pose some issues for you, so be careful. Since I generally only go for Martin style builds, I forgot to disclose this. Apologies.

While the answer might seem obvious, I’ve had some difficulty determining the answer online: will an “OM” Calton case fit a dread, specifically a Taylor dread? (My question isn’t purely academic; IF you still have a case, and IF it fits, I’m pretty dang interested).

Gents,

Apologies - I neglected to update this thread. I was able to sell one of the Calton cases quite awhile ago. As such, I probably shouldn't sell this one! I'd have more guitars than cases if I did. Thanks a ton!
