Best USB mike for Garage band/ MacBook Pro?
Any suggestions welcome. Mainly recording for myself, to post here and on soundcloud etc.
Edit: I'd also want to use it for iMovie. |

I have the Blue Mic Yeti and am very unimpressed. Mediocre sound quality, somewhat loud in the self-noise category, seemingly little difference between the four capsule patterns, poor quality knobs....just feels cheap.
In contrast, the MiC by Apogee is very good sounding (listen to some of Mau's pieces) and seems well built.

Most USB Mics lack a lot of definition and the built-in audio-to-USB adapter is not great.
I would always recommend using a standard XLR-connected microphone and a separate audio interface (with mic preamp).
