Hey Frank, I hope that speaker/cab combo sounds as good as it looks, because it looks like it was made for rock and roll!!!

Hey Growler, Hey Dan,

I have high expectations for this rig. I was running the head thru a Marshall half stack with cheapo speakers and I was really pleased with the sound. So, in my mind, a dedicated cab with a high end speaker should let this Blackstar 20 really sing it’s genuine song. We’ll see…
Before Hurricane Ida this was how I was using the Blackstar. That room is now gone, but 90% of my gear was saved I’m happy to say.

What a fantastic music room. Sorry to hear that it's now gone. Do you still have the nebula backdrop? That looks great. What is it?

They make these feather light cabs for any speaker setup of your choice. I was entertaining the thought of a 2x10” but it would have defeated the purpose of the light cab!

It’s 3/4”plywood with a 1/2” void-less Baltic birch soundboard. They come premade in black tolex, or you can have one done up with any covering and hardware of your choice. They come in at 12 lbs. empty. Perfect for this old man😹

Dru,

It’s three different wall hangings I cobbled together to cover a wall that needed some love. It was the old hippie coming out of me! I have no idea what it was supposed to represent or actually be. I don’t remember if I saved them after the flood…and yes, it really was a fun room. This is a different shot before the gang came over to play.

So…being a long time aficionado of ten inch guitar speakers, because of their crisp, solid transients and immediate connection and response to picking dynamics, I am enjoying the bigger sound of of this 12” speaker. It adds an airy, spacial dimension to the sound I am not used to. Always something new to learn, isn’t there?
