Collings truss rod wrench
Just picked up a 2017 Collings D1A T. Setup is perfect right now...but I’m sure over time I’ll want to make adjustments here and there. Thus my need for a Collings-specific truss rod wrench. Collings is sold out. Anyone have one they want to sell?

For a do it yourself you can put a bend in Allen wrench so it will line up. Also some other guitar company my have a truss rod wrench for sale that will work.

You can buy a Larrivee T2 wrench. It’s angled and doesn’t require loosening strings. Fits perfectly in Collings guitars. I used this on my Collings.

Roy, this works perfectly on all my Collings guitars. Affordable and very high quality.

Thanks for the info, folks!
Uncle, Collings also suggested the Larrivee wrench. I ordered one and it arrived yesterday...but I couldn’t get it to fit. Thus this “want to buy” thread. I only tried for a few minutes so I may not have been patient enough. I’ll give it another shot sometime when I have the strings off and more room to move it around. Matt, appreciate the tip on the one from Amazon. Ordered it. At least now I know I have one that will work with the strings off. Hopefully also I can get the Larrivee wrench to work so I can make adjustments under full strength tension.

FYI it is a bit trickier than a standard truss rod adjustment, since you have to approach the allen head from an angle. I find it easier to remove the strings and turn the guitar upside down in my lap for better leverage. Patience.

LOL, once you get it the first time, you'll have that ah-ha moment and it becomes a lot easier.

The good news is that once you get the relief were you want it the necks are quite stable. Haven't adjusted mine in years.

Good to know. Everything about the setup on mine is perfect right now. But want to have a wrench just in case things change down the line...

Everything about these guitars is stable because of the way they're built. Even if I stopped playing guitar, I'd want to keep a Collings, because they're works of art. Every. Single. One.

For what it's worth, if you can get your hand inside the sound hole and use a 5/32" Allen wrench (the short end), it will allow you to go right behind that transverse brace so you can come at the truss rod nut straight on, not at an angle.
With other guitars, I have experienced stripping of the nut when using a long ball-end Allen wrench at an angle. Of course, YMMV, but it seems logically safer to me to approach the TR nut straight on and not risk stripping it.
