My favorite is "Don't Want to be Your Might Have Been" or abbreviated "Your Might Have Been". My partner and I wrote that song in mid December of last year sitting in front of the fireplace. It took us ALL day to intricately weave the chords and notes in and out of the vocals. I'm really proud of the whole song and especially the chorus.
In the studio I used a 1937 Gibson J35(sunburst) on that song (one guitar, one track, one take) and you can hear that dynamic, old-timey, aggressive voicing of it. Check it out on our myspace... Brian

wrote this a few years back on a Wendy's bag driving down I-75 north....
just got around to recording it (roughly) a few months ago. I used to get a lot of requests to play it when I was performing all the time. Might have to incorporate it into the Tozier show next month! http://www.box.net/shared/ygld8trlwk

Got to be "Blue Skies" or "What About Me" , both written about 6 months ago. I love playing harp on songs so I'm kind of partial to the latter, but the lyrics of the second sum up what I feel for my girlfriend (and she loves it) so it's hard to choose. The little tune I made up I call Self Portrait In Blue I kind of like a lot.
http://www.ericskye.com/music/09_Sel...it_In_Blue.m3u The original tittle for the melody was Giraffe On The Beach, because about ten years ago, on a trip to Africa, I was sitting on a beach near the border of South Africa and Mozambique with my guitar when I saw some some giraffe come right up to the edge of the sand. I thought that was odd and immediately came up with the weird chromatic little tune before deciding it was a good time to leave. Later I made it into a blues tune with a walking bass line. It was a big challenge for me to come up with a bass line that worked with the chords and melody and then to be able to play it all at once. It was a milestone for me technically.
