Default First JT Song?

I've been playing for 8 years now, but I've been working on more fingerstyle lately and I'm loving the creative doors it promises to open. I have gotten down Dust in the Wind, Blackbird, and Stairway to Heaven. Although my right hand is still a bit clumsy, I'm wanting to learn a James Taylor piece or two.

So...where to start? I'm looking for an accessible piece for a beginner, but one that will push me into new direction and better technique. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Fire and Rain is a good one that everyone knows. It doesn't get too hairy. There are lots of covers to see how it's played on Youtube too.

I learned to play JT songs from this guy in the UK. He has produced a JT collection of 6 songs on video, which includes tablature and chord sheets to print out. Very reasonably priced, and he gives lots of freebies and discounts as well.

Dove into this one last night. I thought it was a pretty decent lesson.

Yes that is a good one indeed. I have checked out several of his videos.

I started with just chords and Fire and Rain, but I eventually got this book, the as-recorded sheet music:

and I'm glad I did. I'd rate it as mostly early intermediate.
