Struggling with "So Long Michael" by Pierre Bensusan. It's the first Bensusan song I've tried to learn with dedication and it's bloody hard! There are chord stretches of 6 frets in first position and I've got short fat hands. It's such a great workout that I start my practice with it (very slowly) to warm up with.
I'm a bout a third of the way through it- learning it off about 5 different you tube versions which vary in subtle ways so the version I end up with will not be canonical I'm afraid. It's a great piece to learn, I always though it sounded amazing- some of the obvious mystery evaporates when you have gone over it for the hundredth time but it's such an involved piece that much depth remains

A Day in the Life - The Beatles
Into White - Cat Stevens
Seagull - Bad Company
Life Lies Down - Indio
Space Oddity - David Bowie

Too many great songs to learn and not enough time!

"Maggie May" and "Mandolin Wind" - two Rod Stewart songs I've always loved and have finally got around to learning.

Hey I picked up space oddity a few weeks ago, sound cool eh. I can only do intro and 1st verse by memory. intro is sweet eh going from Fmaj7 to Em. I play it quitely too which I think gives it an errie sound.

The reality is, if a really hot girl asks me to learn a song and it's not Lady Gaga or something, I usually do.
I just picked up the Mumford and Sons CD last week and want to learn a few of the songs, Little Lion man being one of them. A new discovery, but I really enjoyed the album.

Space Oddity is classic acoustic rock from a great acoustic rock album! I especially like "Janine" from that album as well. I do like that change from Fmaj7 to Em in Space Oddity. It never ceases to amaze me how great songwriters can come up with just the right combination of just two very basic chords and turn it into an incredible song! However, if you want to kick up the eerieness a notch, try substituting the Fmaj7#11/E for the straight Fmaj7--gives it a more ominous tone that foreshadows Major Tom's fate.

Fmaj7#11/E = 033200

Anyone here a Jack Johnson fan?

Lots of his stuff is good, tons of barre chords to practice--stuff like Banana Pancakes, Sitting, Waiting, Wishing, Bubble Toes, etc. Also some of his songs have cool catchy little riffs that are easy to learn. I like his new song "You and Your Heart" too.

I can only speak from personal experience, but if you play "Little Lion Man", you'll have to carry a stick to keep the hot, young girls from ripping your clothes off.

I never play repeats, but I had to play that one 3 times last night (at $20 a pop).
