Default I want my buddy's 000-18

Today Lee and I rehearsed for a gig this Saturday. He brought his lovely Martin 000-18 this time which I rarely see. Man, what a tone monster! Short scale, easy to play, sustain out the wazoo, nice size and it growls!
I want it!
Any 000-18 owners care to comment?

No problem - just let me call this guy I knew back in Brooklyn...

I do regularly. I believe it is the swiss-army-guitar and sets the bar for all other 000/OM guitars. Amazing to play and sounds angelic. Mine is a life-long keeper. I had one before that was just as good.

I'd have to say his fits that description as well. I'm still reeling from what comes out of that thing.

Maybe sell the D-18 you have and get the 000-18? The J45 is a nice dread to have and that teamed with a 000-18....well both will be easy on your fingers since both are short scale

Don't tempt me. My grandson would kill me if I sold the D18. I promised it would be his whenever I can't play anymore or I'm on the other side of the grass.

You know, I’d be more inclined to swap the J45 for the 000-18. While both have the Martin sound, the 000 would scratch the short scale itch and you’d still have the D-18. That’d be a killer combo! Love my 000-18!

Sorry, but that J45 is going nowhere.
If you heard my playing style, you would understand. I gotta' have the thump!

Stop...just stop.
I can wait. I'll probably just buy one at some point in the future.

They are very fine guitars. Every time I start wondering —- I pick mine up and
realize it’lll be passed down when I can’t play anymore.

I am very fond of mine. Sadly, it's been out of the house since Monday when I dropped it off with my favorite tech for a set-up.
