Default PSA - Gator Polyfoam Dreadnaught Case for $75 - price increased 6/15 to $90

I recently picked up an Eastman E6D-TC with Alpine spruce torrefied top. I love everything about the guitar with the exception of the malodorous case. It is now in the garage with a box of backing soda in it after spending a solid week outside in the sun. It still has a VERY strong chemical smell emanating from it.

About two years ago I had bought a Gator GS mini case to use with CA Cargo and really liked it. It has held up well to a lot of travel. As chance would have it, Amazon currently has the Dreadnaught size on sale for $75 delivered. The case is very light weight and strong. The exterior is a heavy duty nylon canvas. The zippers appear to be double stitched and there are two external pockets. There is an ample size accessory box which doubles as a neck support. There are also two shoulder straps if you want to use it backpack style. Supposedly it also fits 12 string. I should point out that there is about 3/8" extra space on the length of the body. The next step is to see how it maintains humidity. I put some 49% Humidipacks in it with a Govee BT Hygrometer. Pluses - light weight, durable, quality materials, additional storage areas and no odor.

I've done this. My 12-fret 000 fits perfectly length-wise in a dread case -- with a wee-bit of space on the sides. I've found it's quite easy and cost-effective to buy foam padding and covering material at Hobby Lobby, Michael's, or elsewhere to customize the fit of a case with removable inserts.

BTW - Gator Lightweight Polyfoam cases are super. I've had a couple. They're very sturdy --- more so than other polyfoam cases I've owned --- and are much easier to schlep than wooden cases. Their looks and storage are also huge plusses.

Thanks! I’ve been looking for a decent inexpensive case for an old Goya G310 that I’ve had since the late 1980’s. I ordered the case today so it’ll get a home after 32 years

The case arrived today. It seems sturdy and well-built. The zippers are always going to be a weak point of any case or bag so I’m happy to see that these appear to be pretty robust.
