Default Blueridge Guitars

Anyone care to comment on their Blueridge Guitar; i.e. what model and how do you like it?

Love them. I believe there the best of the China built guitars. Sound and play like Martin's.

I have 2 at that moment, a BR-40 just to beat around with and a BR-43(I think)OM. A close friend has a BR-140 and a BR-160 that we both LOVE. His BR-160 is really excellent not too far off my HD-28; though it could stand a wider nut. I'm GASing for a BR-160A.

Owned a couple. Build quality was good. They have more of a vintage tone, not really my style but nothing really bad to say. I'd listen to some YouTube demos with good headphones and get an idea if it's a tone you like.

I don't own a Blueridge, I have played a few.

The jams I play have a few folks with Blueridge. They are nice guitars. Play nice, have good tone, and project nicely.

Wouldn't mind owning 1 or 2.

I’ve had a 140A, 160A, and a 240A. They were all very good guitars… well built, easy playing, and powerful. I liked my 240A more than my 2016 D18.

Mine has exceptionally good tone and excellent build quality. It's a keeper.

Default Blueridge Guitars

I have a bg-40, really has a lot of volume, sounds close to a Gibson but is a bit glassy and brash suppose it could be due to the b&s being laminate. Fun and fast neck, it doesn’t disappoint, would love to grab a solid wood blue ridge at some point.

I own a BR-43 and I sold a few higher end guitars, including Martin, Gibson and Eastman. The little laminate Blueridge sounded better (in my ears) and hence it stayed. Today my favorite guitar brand is Furch and if you are going after a single guitar, I would suggest that you try out one of their Grand Auditorium models.

I have a Blueridge, and I don't have a John Arnold guitar that would cost about 30 times more. But you tell me which guitar has better attention to detail and execution:

I find Blueridge pretty much on par with Eastman. Eastman, IMHO, has been a better job of marketing and diversifying their line-up (electrics help a lot), but my Blueridge dread is superb.

I don't have time to look for the model number of my BR at the moment, but it's basically an HD-28 clone, and sounds darn close to the original.

I've encountered Blueridge guitars at Bluegrass jams. They are good for the money, everybody agrees with that. Whenever people talk about them, you'll hear or read, "Almost as good as a Martin."

However, I believe that Martin guitars have more good / dollar than do Blueridge. I also believe that, for Bluegrass, Martin dreads have the best attribute/dollar ratio of all guitars. And that's why we see so many Martin dreads in Bluegrass - NOT because of some kind of snobbery.

You can believe differently, on either side of the continuum, and be just as right as I am.

I have owned a,few. They are very nice guitars and I would rank them pretty much even with Eastman.

I would like to play one. I check Saga's dealers near me, then check the dealer's website, and there isn't a Blue Ridge in stock in my state. Any body tried out that 341 parlor?

I own the BR-361 parlor, which is the rosewood version of the BR-341. It is an exceptionally good guitar, especially for fingerpicking. But don't expect a slim neck. I also know these aren't so easy to find these days.

I had an opportunity to compare my 361 head-to-head with an Eastman E20P, which is another popular guitar of a very similar type. I liked the 361 better, but I am also aware that the adirondack top on the Eastman likely needed some breaking in (my BR-361 is 11 years old).

Is that what Sierra Ferrell plays?

She's a hoot.
