Default 1972 Acoustic Guitar ID help

Hey all, thank you for answering questions ahead of time.

I recently found this Guitar in a house I purchased and I brought it to a couple of shops Googleed the names and spent hours looking around for anything and I can not find anything. I am now asking for some help maybe someone knows something.

The label inside says es a. riesenberqer that search comes to an internet dead end. It is clear that it was made in 7/1972 and is in great shape for its age.

I don't play but this guitar is calling me to start, it's weird but considering the guitar and I am the same age I think it's a sign.

Thanks Again for any help.

I would email some guitar shops in Germany, the tuners were made there and the name sounds German.

He uses the word "luthier" which implies he is Englsh-speaking. The comma between 7 and 72 and the lack of an apostrophe before the 72 would steer me toward looking somewhere else other than the US.

No clue, but I like the look. And I really like the strap too.

Luthier is one of those words that's the same in a number of languages. English, French, Spanish etc.... You're totally right about the comma between 7 and 72. Going by this alone, my guess is that it's European.

Agree on the comma between month and year, but don't most Euros make an "f"-like line through their 7s?

I did email a german music shop and this is the response I got from them.

"Sorry ... but I don't think that it's a german luthier. At that time nobody in Germany calls himself "luthier" and the "q" in his name looks very very strange. It has to be a "g" ... I suppose the guy, who wrote that don't know anything about our letters (Japan?).
Last thing: in Germany everybody writes the 7 with a - in the midddle ...
Sad but true ... I can't realy help you."

So the mystery deepens LOL.

Is there a zero fret? Knowing that can contribute to establish the country of origin.

I was curious, so a little Google searching got me to a 1981 "Directory of Contemporary American Musical Instrument Makers" which lists one
James A. Riesenberger, 1301 Bishop Grosse Point Park, Michigan 48230.

I don't really know that this is your luthier though.

I’ll bet you’re absolutely correct! The first few letters of ‘James’ are obliterated,
but still…

If the OP would say where the house was….
