Roger Clemens / Barry Bonds... HOF yay or nay?
This is the last year that Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds are eligible to be voted in for the MLB Hall of Fame (although they can still be elected in by a committee). Some rules for HOF:
Players are only eligible to be voted in after they've been retired 5 years. Players must receive votes on 75% of the ballets. After 10 years they're removed from the ballet. On a side note, I'm thinking they would have been voted in by now if they would have admitted it back in the day (if they did it) before this this 10th and final try. Yay or Nay? |

Nay…. Cheaters both of them. Roids don’t make you better or more talented, they do help one to heal much faster… big advantage in a 162 game season. The sad part is, they both would have likely been HOF players without the drugs or the lies…..

Definitely a nay. The old proverb "cheaters never prosper" should apply.

….two great generational players that didn’t need to cheat to get into the HOF….that makes it worse than a marginal player that was trying to compete in my opinion….that would be a nay for me….

Agree….in part because each would have been in the HOF without the drugs. But I am VERY ambivalent about both.
However, I won’t be upset when they don’t get in. It won’t be a terrible injustice that they are excluded. |

Nay.
I'll take Rose any day. The facts point to the conclusion that Rose was betting, not cheating. And he was playing Hall-level ball. OTOH, these other guys.... I guess we'll never know if they could play Hall-level ball unassisted. Rock-solid nay. |

Negatory times two.
If they let them it, it is a slap in the face of everyone who played fair. |
