Question 1973 Framus Jumbo Bridge Question

I have a 1973 Framus Jumbo that I've just started playing again. The bridge assembly has 2 large screws and I'm not really sure what they do - maybe adjust the action? Not sure, but when I picked up the guitar about a month ago and inadvertently turned it over the assembly fell out. The luthier reinstalled the piece but I still don't know what the purpose of the screws is, hopefully someone here might know? Thank you!

I don't know anything about Framus stuff, but knurled screw heads are for finger turning adjustment. Probably for saddle height adjustment.

Turn the screw(s) and see if the saddle moves. Use a screw driver if strings are tuned to pitch.
