I've built a few cigar box guitars, which are three strings. Currently working on a four string version, but no diddly bows - but discussion of them comes up a bit over at the cigarboxnation website.
I can't find the video now but I do recall a diddly bow that used the side of a house!

Do you prefer galvanized nails or ungalvanized?
Some joker was telling me to only use copper nails as they have the best tone !

While we're on this subject .... I saw a lovely AAAAA+grade plank in my local lumber supliers but it had a hint ofbearclaw .

Do you think this will adversely affect the tone of my diddley-bow?
