Keeley Mag Echo
Anybody own one? Have any experience with one?
Seems like a great delay for the buck from what I can see.

I don’t have the Mag Echo but I do have the Caverns V2 which has modulation available for the delay and reverb sides. I LOVE this pedal for my needs. But because of playing with a partner on mandolin, I seldom if ever use modulation. The slightest dip or “wobble” in pitch just doesn’t work for us.

I’m planning on using it with electric guitars…a Tele or a Strat.

Keeley’s delays/echos are excellent for the money, IMO. I’ve never tried the Strymon machines. Too much money and look like overkill for my needs.

The Halo is a dual delay, and will take you into reverb-ish territory. On both, you can set the tone for pristine clean or darker repeats (fully adjustable - a welcome option). https://youtu.be/BjneqmEm4AE?t=718 The Eccos is a completely different animal, but also very slick: https://youtu.be/FwNXphT9wD4 Both have true stereo inputs and outputs and offer presets, within the pedal. The Eccos also has a very usable looping function. The price point is a little higher on these pedals; but most of my effects tend to do double duty, for my Alvarez and my Strat - sometimes even an MX-88, and they do the job very nicely. The DIG, on the other hand, sounds magical and is relatively easy to dial in. There can be a bit of a learning curve, but not nearly as much so as a heavily menu-driven delay like the Timeline. Wouldn't have been my first choice in a pedal color, but it sounds beautiful. I bought mine, used, but in fantastic shape, on The Gear Page forums. It's a keeper :-). https://youtu.be/nCz1NyKD3Fc It is also a dual delay, and the second delay can be synced off of the primary (particularly useful for syncopated effects), or dialed in completely independently. I love the modulation on this box. Combining the delays in the right way also give you some very ambient/washy reverb tones - great for atmospheric material. I ended up with the JHS series 3 delay.
It’s much simpler and does everything I need…didn’t need all the bells and whistles. I can adjust it on the fly which is essential and at $99 it’s just fine.
