Fish glue question
I'm renewing an acoustic guitar top.
I took off the old rotten one. It was glued with fish glue. Thin hues of glue can still be seen on the kerfed linings. Do I have to sand everything down to the wood or may I use the new top glued on those thin remnants? I want to use fish glue again. Does it dissolve the old traces?

Like hide glue, fish glue will adhere to itself. Just prep the surface well so that you have a tight fitting joint ... and don't worry about any minor residue and you'll be fine.
