If I could only own instruments my talent deserves I’d still be playing a kazoo.

Thanks a lot, Jim....

Sorry Ken...I gotta bad back causing right leg issues and if I'm gonna keep playing this might be a substantial part of helping with that pain. Along with stretching and rolling out my psoas area which is no fun. But I'm hoping it'll help. Oh yeah...and my chiropractor!

Well...I ordered one yesterday with all the bells and whistles. Bretta was very helpful with guiding me through the process. I didn't realize they were out of Salisbury, NC (my mother's family is from those parts) so it shipped yesterday and I'll have it today. I'll report back once it's put together and I've had a chance to use it...

I got one (this forum is dangerous) and have been very happy with mine. Bretta was fantastic. She suggested minor changes, and she was spot on. I use the ring all the time but not the footrest.

Me too. I anticipated using the footrest a lot in warmer months when I might be barefoot and would want more support under my foot than a ring. I tried it a few times the first summer I had it and just found it felt awkward to have my foot in such a locked position. I was better just stepping into my birkenstocks using the ring. The footrest is still on there, but it's used virtually never. I suppose I should take it off.

It did take me a while, probably a few weeks, to get every detail dialed in to my most comfortable position. I was fiddling with the back height and fore/aft a lot, the height of the seat and ring was pretty easy to nail down. But the last thing I needed to do was to get some washers to stack between the seat support and the seat at the two front bolts, to raise the front of the seat a bit. It was never uncomfortable, but I had to fiddle with it to get it as comfortable as my expectation had in mind. Since then, it's been perfect. I haven't had any problem with the back not staying in place on either axis.

I did pony up for the break-down option, thinking I was gonna take it down south to the place we rent in the winter, but after breaking it down a few times and trying to pack it into something (a bass drum bag works OK), I finally decided it was just gonna take up too much room in the car and also in the place down south, which is pretty tight. I just use a normal little Fender guitar stool down there. So I've never broken it down since. I could have saved that $100, but I guess I had to learn that for myself.
