I guess this is called addition by subtraction!!

I just pulled a trigger on a multi threaded trade myself.

Outbound was a few Modeling amps (Mustang III and a Code 50) as well as a 2010 Epi Emperor Regent archtop.

Inbound: new Marshall DSL 40 Combo

no regrets, although I may wake up some day and regret trading the Emperor..

I regret selling two guitars. Both were great instruments that I wasn't playing much: a wonderful Guild 12 string that I owned got very little attention for over 10 years; a very fine Bourgeois Slope D that I owned was mostly passed over in favor of playing other guitars that were a better fit for how I was playing at that time. Both have been gone for 5+ years

But as my musical frontiers have expanded, I see that I would have been playing them a lot in the past couple of years. I bought another 12, and it is getting a lot of playing time in recent months. I haven't bought another Slope D, but that is something that still calls to me on occasion, and I have gotten very close to buying a Collings CJ 35 or other Collings Slope D in the past year.

Sometimes the path is crooked and inefficient....
