Default Guild Fans! Show Your Guilds!

I did a search for a general Guild fan thread, as I was sure there must be one, but I can't find one, if there is one close this one and send a link to the other one!

I received my first Guild this past fall as a very generous gift from my wife for my 30th birthday. It's a D40 Traditional in Sunburst. I love it, it's definitely my main guitar. It's always sounded amazing, right from the beginning, it's always been toned down when capod a bit though. The tone of this guitar is unreal. Watch the Ian Meadows video reviews of the D40T if you're interested.

Recently I've realized how flippin full this guitar is, it's remarkable, honestly, it's blissful. Even capod is getting fuller, it's definitely already opening up more, it's only a few months old.
It does need a proper setup, fret level, but due to the pandemic and where I live, I've been unable to bring it in for this and the pickup installation.

I'd still love a regular D40 as well one day, or at least to play one, I know the D40T and D40 are actually quite different because of the bracing etc, I've really loved what I've heard from the regular D40s as well. Maybe an F40 would be more appropriate in the future, I've always wanted to try a jumbo.

Anyway, what's your story with your Guilds? Do you have any pictures?

Edit*sorry for the sideways photos, not sure why it always does that for me.

I have an 'Art' effect on my camera - this is what it did for my red 2002 Guild F-412.

Bought this from a forum member years ago. Its a NAMM prototype D-55 with some incredible Brazilian RW. Incredible dynamic range with power all the way up the fretboard with no dead spots.

Here's my plain Jane Guild D-120CE which lives in DADGAD and other lower tunings. I picked this up a few years ago used for about $450. Worth every penny. I have a D-55 from '78, which I keep for old times sake, but it needs work and the nut is a little too cramped for me now.

Here's a tune with the D-120ce:

Wow, that's an amazing one there!

For me, it's jumbo 12-strings. My Corona-build JF30-12 compares admirably to my Oxnard-built F512....

Where so I start? Well, since this is an acoustic group, my X-175 is out, not sure about my Artist Award, it is a fully acoustic archtop with a floating pickup, but I'll hold off on that decision. So, my first Guild. A '64 F212 my mother bought for me in high school ('65), so I am the first and only owner. I had a D50 for a while in the '70s, but needed to trade it for a Tele for a band gig. I don't have a good picture of my '75 Mark V classical, but, again, I'm the only owner it's had. I got the '76 F50 around 1980, third hand, and at least one of those owners played it hard and it shows. Sound great, though. Time for a neck reset, so soon it will be out of service. I was lucky enough to win the 512 as the grand prize at the first Let's Meet Guild open house in 2010. Was a morale booster as it was on the same day I learned I had a cancer of the blood. I got the D55 four or five years ago, just got it back with a neck reset and some other tweaks. Added two Guilds in 2020, both Orpheums, the slope shoulder 12 fret here, and it's OOO slothead brother.

This is BEAUTIFUL!!!

I lived in Guild desert for my whole life. In 43 years of playing I touched just one single Guild while I was a teenager.

That change a week ago when I bought my first Guild, a D55. I‘m totally amazed with this guitar and I‘m sure we will never part. It has the sound character I hoped for, clean, even with a great dynamic. With 13-56 PB strings the D55 competes with the volume of my D-18 and Dove.
I should have bought one decades ago! So happy!

I also wonder why there is less talking about Guilds in the forums compared to other brands. My advise: try them!

Great thread! Can't beat a good old (or new) Guild!

This is my '81 D-46. I bought it from the original owner 21 years ago. I was lucky to snag it.

It's a big and powerful guitar, but it can whisper as well. Very versatile.

Swamp ash back, sides, and neck. Heavy, built like the proverbial tank. Pretty scarce, not many made.

These two are my first Guilds. 1990 JF30-12 and 2019 F-512. Both are wonderful guitars.

My beloved 1971 Guild F-312NT.

Best sounding/easiest playing 12 string I've ever had in my hands. This one ain't goin' nowhere!
