Santa Cruz advice
First off, I’m a UK lefty, so not as much choice out there. But a used SC lefty RS jumbo has come up and tbh I can’t take my eyes off it.
Would be a big investment and a gamble as I can’t play it- UK lock down. I’ve read so many great things about SC and they don’t come up lefty in the UK very often. It’s a spruce over hog 12 fret and looks stunning. Should I take the plunge, cos this gas is baaad? |

I don't own one, but I've never picked up a Santa Cruz that didn't seem wonderful. I suppose there might be one or two out there that are less than wonderful, but I haven't found any yet. But for that kind of investment, you need to have it in hand and experience it for yourself.
If the visual is creating that much interest, playing it will probably seal the deal. Good luck! |

Do it! Just do it. Don't let it slip away. You'll love the bass thump.
(But my go-to is a VS, so there's some bias involved.) |

Yes. Yes you should.
Did you really expect to be talked out of it? |

Go for it You only live once and a SC guitar is a wonderful life experience. Everyone that has ever experienced them has carried the love for SC guitars on. Even the people that ended up selling them. Like me. Some day I will have another. I can feel it.

I purchased my SC without ever playing one before. Great decision for me, and it would have been an enormous loss to have passed it up.

Given your lockdown, you may want to condition the sale on a right of inspection with the right of return and refund no questions asked.

Same! Zero regrets, glad I took the chance. I had a window in which to return it if I'd wanted, though.

I've got an SC coming in about a week that I purchased ony after speaking to the owner for a bit. There may not be another builder out there that I have as much confidence in as I do in SCGC. Really hard to go wrong with them.
Do yourself a favor and buy the guitar. scott |

I am also left handed, so I know how rare it is to come across quality left handed guitars. This has motivated me to quickly jump on opportunities to buy when they are available. I also happily own a Santa Cruz. It is a 000-R. It is my best sounding guitar. It is very well constructed guitar and has beautiful wood. I don’t think you will regret buying the Jumbo. I hope that you post pictures.

Just do it, my SCGC short scale OM cocobolo/German is a tone machine, every fret every string has same volume and sustain that's uncanny!

Yes buy it! I've played 4 or 5 RS SCGC guitars and they have all been great! Some with Sitka, Red Spruce or Euro Spruce all great though!! Super easy guitars to play and they are very fast, responsive and light weight!

Ah, found it!
A later model than mine, paler burst, which is very nice ! Mine is also a hog, and no-one seems to know whether it has a sitka or adi top, but it's taken quitae a long time to open up, but noww it has - it lives with a good g strum! 1 & 13/16" nut width - which is perfect for me, and a very nice c-profile neck. Beware - 5" deep body, so not for the couch! Build quality not quite up to Collings but perfectly good - finish is not as rock hard as Collings. Ameritage cases are safe as the bank of England (???) but almost as heavy, and not a lot of spare storage space. Asking price is reasonable but maybe offer 250 less? The important thing is your prioriy - bargain price or possession! These are rare as rightys, lefties ? whoa unobtanium! I don't think you'd regret it. Ej17s and a Blue Chip TAD 50 and 60 for best throaty sound. Its a BIG guitar, and one that when performing sends the sound right out, but not up ... 5" deep remember. Let us know how it goes.
