Either a Larrivee D-40M or Larrivee D-40R. I usually post these models out of personal experience and the fact that I'm a dreadnought kinda guy. Then, I, and others often find out that the OP actually has a smaller body-style in mind.

I think it would be helpful when threads like this are posted that the OP specifies that, along with what body-style guitar they prefer, what the allotted sum will be used to buy:

A NEW guitar
A USED guitar
Any guitar, NEW or USED

I already have a D18 and a J45 so at this point I'd go hunting for a good deal on an OM21.

My thoughts exactly!

If I only get one instrument, I need to go with a dreadnaught, since I attend jams with a variety of instruments. But I have a Webber jumbo that is amazing...

If not a Webber, I’d probably go with a D18, or D28.

A Gibson J-15 gets honorable mention though even though I've moved on to other styles that call for other things ...
You can find a Furch Yellow new without even negotiating on the Reverb.

A used Martin CEO-7, may have to stretch the budget just a bit though.

I got my OM-28 for $2,000 in excellent condition. Watch harder or negotiate better.

Can I keep the $2k and play the guitar I already have?

There's nothing I could spend $2k on that I would expect to like more than my Taylor 710, so I guess I can't really answer.

Well, I only have one acoustic guitar and it cost me just a little under $2000. It’s a CEO-7 and FOR ME it’s a perfect all-rounder. I love the sound, the neck profile, the wider than normal string spacing. It fits me perfectly. Doesn’t mean it would be the best for other folks, but for me it’s perfect.

Not sure you could get a CEO-7 all that close to $2000 today. I bought about 9 months ago when the pandemic was just taking off and guitar inventories were still high. I got it for 60% of list, which was pretty common then, but today nobody’s discounting like that because there’s very little supply and lots of demand. Maybe you could find something used in that ballpark though...

Definitely a used 000-18, and if you are real lucky a used 000-18 GE.
