Hum... Did you consider the nut width ?
It is the reason I never had either of those : I need 1,75 nut width.
The quite standard 1,725" Gibson was just a bit too narrow for me...
as well as the D-35 I once owned.

Me too. The wider the better. In fact I play classical/nylon too, and I love that even wider neck.

Sell the Taylor, and buy the Gibson AND the Martin.

(Seriously though, I wouldn't worry about the D-28 sounding anything like the Taylor.)
