Default Keep picking

My wife went to a yoga class and I stayed home to practice guitar. I was goofing around with finger picking in open D tuning. She came home and said "If you keep picking at it, it will never heal."

It's ok. We both laughed and then she asked what I was doing because it sounded different. It turned into an interesting music theory discussion.
