Default NGD........Sorta

After someone asked me a question about the back wood on my 2014 Bourgeois slope-shoulder dread, I figured I’d call Bourgeois to get all the specs on it. I thought it was a short-scale slope shoulder custom dread with the Adirondack top on it. Turns out it’s a “Banjo Killer” model! No wonder it’s such a loud guitar! So while it’s not a new guitar day in reality, I just found out that my guitar was a better model than I thought! Now, I’m REALLY happy with it!

That's funny. Do I have this right.... You went into a shop, played some guitars, loved the Bourgeois, bought it and didn't know what model it was.?? Or the woods that were used.??

That's pretty cool if that's the story. That is how every guitar should be bought. Truth.

No. I bought it through the classifieds on here. I knew it had mahogany back/sides. A person asked me in a thread on here if it was fiddleback or old growth Cuban mahogany. It looked like fiddleback to me, so I called to ask about that, specifically, as I’ve never heard of the Cuban mahogany variant. Nowhere on the label does it have BK(Banjo Killer) written. It just has it as a SS Dread Custom with Adirondack top. Not all of the Slope shoulder dreads have the bk bracing and per their website, the BK models have Bearclaw Sitka spruce tops, so I figured it was just a slope shoulder model.
