Beautiful wood for sure but over time it will darken and could become almost black. I have a cocobolo backed guitar that is 15 years old and it has darkened to the point of only seeing a bit of the figure in certain light. So, enjoy it now while you can as it is gorgeous. The luthier also gave me the option of a few sets that were mostly straight grained and quarter sawn. Working with Jason, you can't go wrong.

Thanks Jayne! I think the darkness might be more from the naptha and the way the picture was taken. I have a few older Brazilian guitars that haven't turned dark yet! I'll let you know in another 15 years!

Jason saved some of the beautiful dyed burl from some spectacular rosettes he did this year. These pieces are from the same batch as Dennis' (cigarfan) MDW. The colors should appear very similar to these and certainly pop under finish!:
