Hey John--it was great meeting you at BIG. Thanks for checking this one out!

Steve and Ryan just about have all the woodworking done on this FS and are hoping to ship it out for finishing early next week.

Then the waiting begins...Yikes!

Default Final sanding...
Steve and Ryan have just about got this puppy ready to go to finish!

Steve assures me that there are tonal advantages to the color alternation of clamps when gluing down the fretboard. We shall see, but either way, as he noted, "It's certainly festive"!

The final sanding is being performed as this thread prepares to go dark for awhile...

Default All for awhile...
Thanks, Dennis and Tom--and thanks for the painful wait time reminder!

A couple of final shots as we bid goodbye to this FS for awhile.

I love the shot of the back--it highlights how we wanted the look of the backstrip continuing past the heel cap and running up the neck to the peghead. Very cool!

All for now until I have something more to report--thanks for following along...

Default The "K"
While the FS is out for finishing, Steve and Ryan are getting the neck ready to go.

I elected to have the "K" logo placed on the backstrap to preserve the appearance of the stunning Koa front plate. Here's a shot with the "K" inlay in place...
