Default Schenk FE Grand Fingerstyle - Richard Gilewitz Signature **PRICE DROP**

I've owned 150+ guitars over the years...and my top two favorites, including this one, were made by Rod Shenk. Rod Schenk is a gifted engineer who began his career by designing necks for Kevin Ryan and you can see definite “Ryan-esque” similarities in their work. Rod was deemed one of the "Top 8 Luthiers of North America" by Acoustic Guitar Magazine. He also won the coveted Player Choice Gold Award. Rod boasts one of the most technologically advanced guitar workshops in the industry as well as a unique and revolutionarily designed truss-rod system. Advanced finite element analysis computer modeling has been utilized to develop the optimum bracing size and layout. Years of design and development have also created the ultimate neck assembly with the proprietary "super-rod" truss rod assembly. The super-rod provides a rock solid neck with consistent string action even under constant string tuning changes.

This guitar has a beautiful creamy Englemann Spruce Top and Sapele back and sides. Folks tend to confuse Sapele with Mahogany but that’s not the case...(per Rod's website) Sapele is an excellent wood choice that provides clear notes and articulate chords. Probably the most underrated choices for providing amazing sound. Sapele is much harder than Mahogany and gives it a really crisp sound. It is loud and balanced with excellent note separation. The bass is strong and trebles ring out prominently. Overtones are complex and sustain is excellent. The action is low and the neck if slim and fast. It is an ideal fingerstyle guitar. This one is the Richard Gilewitz Signature model with the Alligator head inlay on the neck (Richard’s company is Alligator Alley Productions). Comes with an arched top Access case and LR Baggs full Anthem pick up. Shipping to CONUS only please. Just one small ding on the face (see pic 11 on the Reverb listing).

SOLD![/U]

The FE Grand Fingerstyle is the Schenk Guitar flagship. First produced over 15 years ago, it still remains one of the most popular body styles. Its tight waist and radical back arch provides a comfortable shape for ease of playing and a large interior volume for loud projection and forever sustain.

What wonderful guitars these are. Beautifully resonant, clear and have such a comfortable feel. Sapele is indeed a truly fine wood, and produces a tone that really rings out. GLWTS

THanks Joel!! I couldn't agree more.

Ok...we need new windows...So, I'm gonna put this one back on the market...until I lose my nerve again! Great modern fingerstyle!

Man Jeff I don’t understand why this one hasn’t sold. Beautiful in all aspects and quite a lot of guitar for the investment. Similarly my McKnight. I see factory made instruments sell and wonder why someone wouldn’t want a hand built custom instead.

It's a head scratcher for sure... I'm going down to 1-6 string and 1-12 string or I'd keep it! Your McKnight is stunningly beautiful as well... I keep clicking on the listing. Thats as fine a sunburst as Ive seen!

Default Gorgeous guitar, great seller

What a beautiful guitar! I have known Jeff about a decade. Bought a couple from him, sold a couple to him over the years. Honest and fair.
