True that! You know how to tell when a southern guy absolutely hates a guitar? He says, "Well, bless that thing's little heart!"

Smile All fine so far…

We did get awakened by major lightning and thunder last night, and got a sprinkling of rain this am. So far, no thunder showers, dang…

Thanks for the good thoughts, Jamie!!!

I am glad you are safe! California fire season has officially begun. We have already had some smaller fires up here, but this lightning storm is apparently in the top 2% all-time for California in number of strikes in 24 hours.

So I thought thunder only happened when it’s raining. I believe anything Stevie Nix tells me.
Glad you guys are safe and what about all those wooden guitars?

I will grab as many JKs as I can and my RT if possible. Fortunately all are insured with Heritage. Yay Heritage. I worry much less since getting the insurance a few years ago.

Meanwhile! This axe in route from John. He wisely invested in an Apple AirTag so we can tell where the thing is. Which is great, especially since lately a lot of shippers are having difficulty with their tracking. The AirTags tell you exactly where things are pretty much in real time. Sweet

So, it did not get a work out with Al Pettiway, as he was too busy with the Swannanoa gathering…. I guess I will just have to do my own review, and you all can suffer with my mediocre playing.

Thank goodness I can sing, honk the harmonica, and foot stomp too… back when I was a singing drummer/frontman in my former lifetime, I could play with one hand while swigging beer with the other, and running the PA. Hahahaha

Sadly, the super duper Visesnut case did not quite fit due to the 12 fret SS configuration. The headstock volute just hit the case pocket. So it gets a perfectly fine Taylor GS case. For now…

Anyone want to sell a Hiscox Lightflight Artist dread case?

I am stoked this is on the way! Thank you John, may your herds increase!!!

Everybody play the good ones and have lots of fun!

Cheers

Paul

Whoa, what a gorgeous guitar! Will you bring it to B.I.G.? I am planning to bring my JK West Coast that I got at the last B.I.G.

Hey Soma. Unfortunately, family stuff will keep us from this years BIG.

But tomorrow is Phebe’s 102nd Birthday. Yes, my mother in out law…. The world famous fine artist! Really

Meanwhile, this instrument may arrive late today. It was supposed to be here Thursday, but FedEx had “delays”…. Shipping now is often problematic. Sigh

Fingers crossed all is well. I expect it will be fine!

Cheers

Paul

Best of luck to you on the delivery! I'm still taking my West Coast to B.I.G., though!

Paul,

Saw that you are hoping to find a Hiscox Artist GAD case for this special guitar. The Ivory case would be a great match for that Myrtle.

I have two of the black Artist GAD cases and they are super versatile in what they can hold and are very protective.

Looks like the Hiscox pricing for their cases has come way down ($370 on their website) from when I purchased mine (over $500 years ago). Unfortunately it seems they are only building to order and not shipping out of the UK, although Thomann lists their Pro II cases as available for sale to the US.

Good luck in your search and enjoy that beautiful JK build.

Smile Bummer in the summer….

This beautiful guitar has sustained some minor damage en route to Ca from NC…

So, a trip to Tim Luranc is in the near future for it and me.

I wager he can have it singing soon. A review will come eventually…. Sigh

Soma you should take yours!!! Have a blast.

Thanks for the Birthday wishes for Phebe!

And yes, a cream Hiscox Artist Dread case would fill the bill nicely. I have two Jumbo ones and they work excellently

The thermal protection is A lot of what I am after.

Cheers

Paul

Bummer, Paul--sorry to hear this.

Hope Tim has it up and singing in no time!

Looking forward to your review once it's ready to go!
