I like the pinless bridge, but really, really dislike gold tuners.

I think these would look much better with the black ones. Fortunately for me, my "guitar fund" is quite drained after my current Emerald order.

I’m quite sure that if someone was to order one of these that Emerald would be happy to retrofit black tuners.

And give you a $75 credit

I couldn’t resist, and bought myself a Fender Am Pro strat, so won’t have disposable funds (i.e. soccer refereeing money - which is ALL MINE vs my paycheck, which my wife squanders on mortgage payments, food, and other such frivolity ) for another Emerald for a while, but if I had the funds available right now on my ArbiterSport debit card, that X30 would be winging its way to me right now!

I normally agree with you on the tuners, but the richness of that veneer really works with the gold.

Can someone please explain how this pinless bridge works. I am familiar with the Breedlove version but not sure how the string are held in place on the emerald

The holes are slotted so the ball goes in and then seats forward towards the headstock, no pin needed. It does require some getting used to and developing a bit of a technique. There are two good threads where this was discussed with photos and a video in these threads:

The Cocobolo January Select Series models are the only ones in the ongoing exotic wood Select Series that I've seen, so far, that I would consider buying. My first choice, however, would still be an X20 in standard transparent Emerald Green Carbon Weave.

We have one woody (my wife's X7 classic) but all of mine are plain CF weave (green X20 and X20-12, red X30). Wood is great, but I prefer to see the carbon fiber in the top, as I do with my Rainsongs and Blackbird guitars. And checking just now three of six are gone. A little slower start than most months, but they are moving.
