Default What strings do you use - a poll

Further to a thread by Wrighty about a new British (made?) string brand.

I thought it might be fun to see what BRANDS we prefer. I looked at the UK's online string dealer with the widest range which are STRINGS DIRECT.
These were the brands that I found and I'm frustrated that I omitted Newtone, and probably other brands, so let us know if you use something not in the list (limited to 14).

For the sake of focus - I limited the strings to Phosphor Bronze, and to light gauge (12-53/54) but you may also vote for a BRAND if you prefer other alloys or gauges. TELL US IN YOUR COMMENTS about other (brand) preferences!

ALSO - I've allowed multiple choices (why not?)

Have fun, and tell me what I've done wrong! (if I have).

This sounds fun. If you want to do a poll, go back to your original post and scroll way down to "additional options" on the new post screen. That's where it is. Pretty easy to set up once you're there.

Thanks Neal, the system re-educated me pretty quickly!

Looks like I'm the only one to have voted so far!
I usually use Earnie Ball Paradigm Phosphor Bronze 0.11's on my LL16, I used Elixir almost exclusively for 10 years, still do sometimes. I've used Daddario a fair bit, I often use their non coated when trying to figure out what type of string works best for a guitar.
My D40 is new and still has the strings it came with, but I've been feeling like trying Elixir on it after this set, which will be my old go to of Elixir Phosphor Bronze Nanoweb 0.11's.
My little folk guitar I've been using Daddario 0.11 80/20. I. Going to put Elixir Nanos 80/20 on it next.

I've used D'Addario for a long time but have been trying the GHS and J Pearse recently. Very much liking what I hear and feel from the GHS Thin Core PB's on a couple of my guitars - 11/46. The J Pearse PB silk wound - 12/53 - are also sounding good.

I use mostly D'Addario on my electrics (although I am currently experimenting with some EBs, which I forgot to check). This is a direct result of getting a whole bunch from an online promotion last year and still not going through them all.

On my acoustics, it's a mix of DR Sunbeams, Newtone and Gibson strings ATM. Oh, and some D'Addario's on my 12-string.

I run John Pearse Nuages on all my parlor guitars. I love the touch of them and the balance they give. They also seem to last quite a while.

I used to buy strings in bulk from Walter Lipton’s Euphonon Luthier Supply. The quality was superb and the prices amazing.

Marked other for the Santa Cruz low tension lights, but I also use and like several of the D'addarios (EJs and PB) and DR's (Sunbeams and Rares)

I voted for D'Addrrio, Earthwood, and Exlir. Because that is what I have strung up.

Different guitars sound better with different strings. May be full of it but thats my feeling.

Personally I find all my guitars sound best with John Pearse Phosphor Bronze Light Gauge strings. So that's what I use on everything (which reminds me I need to order a couple dozen sets today to restock).

Was a strictly D'Addario player for years and years, but recently stumbled upon the SCGC Parabolic low tensions, and can say that I have found my new go to strings.

So far, I've been content with Martin SP 80/20 extra-light (10-47) on the twelve-string because that's the only set the local shop had at the time. But now that I've acquired a six-string, I've started experimenting with strings.

The 6 currently runs DR Sunbeams light (12-54), which I love. They replaced Martin Marquis 80/20 12-54s.

The 12 is away for the repair of a lifting bridge. The next strings to try on it are Martin Flexible Core and then DR Rare, both of which I also have for the 6.

I boosted the poll since I voted D'Addario, Martin, ernie ball, John Pearse and DR.
Yeah, I may actually have too many acoustics !
